Wore 'em out in the surf this morning.....

Fished the surf this morning & couldn't keep the trout away. Easily caught 40+ keepers & at least half as many coonass keepers. Unfortunately, no real size, though. Biggest went around 20". Caught on a variety.....plastics, mirrodine & spook jr.




On a side note, anyone ever set a hook so hard they do this to their rod?



Never had that happen before. Rod builder said it's a blank defect & he's gonna build me a new one (blank manufacturer will take care of it for him). Still landed the fish, though.

Rod was a gift from the man himself. A VERY NICE gift. I plan on having David rebuild the rod exactly as it was. Other than the whole snapping thing, it's the finest rod I've ever owned.

that's sweet . I used to work at Shipley's . I was the only donut boy that could carry a dozen donuts an 2 cups of coffee .
