  • Looking for reports

With all the rain I am skeptical about driving down this Friday. I read a guide's report that said only about 40% of the Galveston bay complex was fishable because of salinity levels and mud. Does anyone know if West Bay is cleaning up?

yea but you have 100% chance of fishing. I would lean toward that variable and go.

West hasnt got hit as hard as east or the ship channel. In fact two Saturday ago i was in two and half foot of water looking at all the stingrays passing my legs. We just started getting a stronger west wind about two hours ago so if it hangs around it could dirty things up a bit. The fish are there and stacked. If you find them you will catch a bunch of them. 6ft shell mud or reef should do the trick. Dont rule out certain water cause of the water clarity or salinity. Saltwater is heavier than fresh

I hit chocolate this afternoon for a couple hours water further south was not in great shape but it wasn't horrible. Caught a bunch of small drum and trout on live bait, chased birds for a little bit with little success because the wind was blowin me around too much which was not forecasted. Fun for a lazy outing with my brother and his girlfriend.

How was Chocolate? I tried back the first part of May and the water was just like the name. I did notice last Saturday on the south shorelines were kinda sandy. Say from jamaica to near pass. We did hit the northside and found better water. Tons of slot reds and tons of boats.

I fished Moses Lake and outside Moses Lake and Eagle Head last Sunday and saw a lot of bait fish and just as many boats. I saw one boat catch a fish that I could not ID…..

There are no fish in Moses Lake. Waste of time. Go to Hall's or west bay.
