3/31: Took a day off

I took today off and took La Señora on a boat ride and bird watching trip. I started out in Green's but the water was still super low and dropping so we drifted the main lake. I took a ride up the DC to look at water color (poor) and cut a long drift in Jones in the way back in.

In short, she saw a lot of birds, I practiced my long casting skills and we caught up on a number of life's important issues (where my oldest is going to HS, if my youngest will get hit in the face with a baseball this year due to break dancing while playing 1st base, etc). We topped it off with lunch at Louis' and a cold beer.

Conditions were tough out there. Water was gnarly, wind hard out of the SW, tide low. So what, we had fun.

I am currently no threat to the fish. That is all.

I've got a pitcher on my Minor team that dances constantly - and a 3rd baseman that cant stop playing in the dirt. Glad you got out brother - I sure wish our side of the bay would straighten up a bit.

Sounds like a typical day on the water for me...I'm no great threat to the fish on a regular basis.

I was out there yesterday afternoon from about 4-7, you may have seen me if you were fishing Jones/Highland Bayou around that time (sea foam colored shallow draft boat). I didn't get a nibble the wind was absolutely pumping the whole time I was out there, gusts up to 30 I believe.
