Don't blame it on the angry, aggressive, misunderstood predator. They are probably in poverty conditions. We need to. Give them a job and they won't be so aggressive.

Of course, running a fillet knife down both sides, takes out a little aggressiveness too.

I slept in a little yesterday so didn't run the dawn patrol. I motored under the railroad bridge into Jones Lake about 7:45. I cut two long drifts in Jones looking for some reds but with the low tide, most of the areas I know to hold a fish or two were pretty shallow and clear. I went looking for some deeper, sheltered water to drift for some trout.

I fished a spot AP showed me last year at this time when conditions were very similar. I caught about 15 trout and two rat reds. Three or four of the trout were throwbacks. Not a lot of size on the keepers but a couple were 2-3 pounds. All fish caught on a single chicken boy psycho chicken in BYP, 1/4 oz jig head bumping on the bottom. I tried some other colors including plumtreuse assassins but could only get a bite on the BYP. Fish caught in 6 to 10 feet of water.

Cold and windy yesterday. Air temp was in the low 40s. Water temp was mid 40s. I saw it as high as 48 later in the morning. Wind was 15-20 from the NE. Pretty gnarly out. All fish caught between 9 and 10:30.
