  • 12/23: Not as good as Termo's report

I wanted to get a little time in today before leaving town for Christmas. I launched at Louis' at 0545. The fog was so thick, I couldn't see squat. I putt putted down the bayou. When I got close to the RR bridge, I decided to pull over and tie off until the light improved. I drank a cup of coffee and around 0630 I could see 50 yards (ish) so I kept on putt putting. Once out in the bay the light came up and the fog lifted a bit. I ran to the Diversionary Canal and cut a long drift. I popped three specks between 0730-0800. I kept on drifting until about 0830 but had to head back in. i saw a few tails break the surface but honestly couldn't tell if they were reds or black drum in the poor light/fog. I did a good end of year cleaning on the boat and was off on my way to run errands for my darling bride by 1000. A short trip but a good way to end the year.

All fish caught on Chickenboy Psycho Chickens in BYP. Water was off color up by the Harborwalk Bridge but cleared up as I drifted SE. Water temp was 63 according to the GPS. Water was light and variable. About the time I got off the water it was starting to look nasty.

Merry Christmas to all and we'll see you on the water in 2015.

Great report JYC! 3 fish-6 filets....that's dinner! Without my GPS this morning, I'd probably ended up in Cuba.

Made a quick trip down this morning to check out the fish camp but didn't wet a line. Back in Houston trying to finish my master bath remodel so I can get back on the water ( with wife's blessing[emoji1]).
