Open invitation to those that would like to meet up Sunday AM for some surf fishing...
I think we'll meet right near Pirates West. 13 Mile Road beach access basically where Stewart Road dead ends into FM 3005 (past the old Pirates Marina & Stewart Mansion etc)... You'd drive right across FM 3005 and the beach park will be right in front of you.
Is anyone interested in meeting up for a Sunday morning surf fishing party let me know. Think it would be fun.

Our place is a stones throw from there. I may have a couple teens in tow, if they can wake up early enough. What start time, 6ish?

The storm is a far ways away and the waves are really big now. Could not imagine what it will look like on Sunday. I will play it by ear and might make it out there.

So far, my info has Sunday NE- E 5-10, 2 foot or less waves. I had planned on taking my yak to the south jetty, good on a NE - N direction and flat surf. I'll see what they say on saturday. Been catching trout there in the surf ? I went to the Boliver Pocket last saturday in the yak, 4 trout and some heavy action for a few minutes near where I parked my truck until the storm busted out of the east and the illegals watched me from the beach to see if I would make it in alive what with the Hawaiian type breakers. I surfed in on my yak and they met me at the beach. Were nice enough to offer to help carry my yak to the truck. :)

WEA left before all the action!
In addition to the same seaweed, I caught and released a small speckled trout and a small black-tip shark on finger mullet.
This was the first time Steven and David (two teens on a visit) tried surf fishing and according to FP10, they were certainly broken in.

Did ok on the seawall...bunch of dinks and sandies and was a bit sporty. Weed was not an issue and the water was sandy green to the beach. It should still be good for the rest of the day

Hey Coe, I was on the beach where you said you would be. Were you with two other guys in the shore break with flash lights?
Some guy went out to the third bar before daylight.......

The fish we found were all way out as far as we could cast and there was a ton of bait out there. Good luck out there if you get out there tomorrow.

I have no sons.
I have two teenage daughters (one went to meet Bonnie in Pensacola and the other had work scheduled this weekend (please frequent the BerrriPop on Washington Ave. tell her, her Dad sent you)).
The two boys had visited my wife and I for the weekend with their mom. Neither boy had been salt water fishing before, let alone surf fishing. They had a blast and the black tip I caught was icing on the cake for them.

It wasn't that rough, though I did get a couple facefulls.
Notice to beachcombers, Jeremy's box might wash up somewhere along GISP or Pirates Beach West. ;)

It wasn't near as bad as the last time that you and I waded the surf.
