View Full Version : Baffin with Aubrey and Sally 6/25-26

Michelle and I had the chance to fish Baffin with Aubrey Black and Sally Moffett on Fri and Sat and had a great time in spite of the full moon. Friday we fished the rocks and Aubrey snagged a beautiful 29" trout. She surfaced right after he set the hook and we knew he a big girl on. Big, deep swirl, fun to watch him bring her in. We did some sight casting in the afternoon and Cissy (showing off her Redfish sports bra in the photo below) caught a nice Red. On Saturday, Sally took us for some morning topwaters and we scratched out a few -- bait everywhere, mostly just popping at our lures, but fun action. Late morning she took us shallow water sightcasting and Michelle caught 2 reds back to back in a pothole. One huge Red broke Cissy off -- one of those 50 mile an hour hits that nearly rips your rod out. SNAP, fish is gone. My experience was not nearly as exciting as I was apparently sightcasting to Mullet...hey, they were BIG Mullet...("well damn, why aren't they hitting my lure??" duh...) Michelle finished off her limit and picked up a couple of trout at our next stop...I think she might be a sightcasting convert now. If you like labradors, swimming pools, great food and fishing, you gotta stay with Aubrey sometime --- they had 4 labs in the pool horsing around and hanging out in the pool. It was an awesome time.

I know what you mean about Aubreys place...it's a lot of fun and they're both real good people! Looks like a heck of a trip yall had.

Nice trip... I love it down there... It is just so relaxing with no phone, no traffic, waking up in the mornin and the only thing you have to drive is the boat... How far was you from bird island???

You gotta love both of them, great personalities and lots of fun to be around. Not to mention that they can both fish well!! Sounds like ya'll had a great time!

Did you hear that Aubrey was on the 610 outdoor show over the weekend and announced that they are getting married? I think that is awesome, they make a great couple. Never without fish in that house! :)

wish i could scan their wedding invitation and post it. most creative invite i've ever seen. the wedding is byob, bring your own boat. they're getting married on a sand bar where sally took us sight casting. i'm sure i'll regret not going but i have to work early sunday.

It is definitely a cool looking invite...I wish I could've made it but I was working. Really a unique way to get hitched and what two great people. I'm very happy for both of them!
