I heard Burnett has cooled down at least that's my thought after reading a few posts... This cold front is going to drive the trout into some deeper areas won't it?

There's fish in there. Coach and I went out in colder conditions than Saturday and still caught fish. It's 6-8' when you drift through the middle.

i've never fished that area at all, but i was driving around on saturday and checking some spots out i might be able to yak from... if i launched a yak from morgans point and paddled straight across through the cut infront of it (with out getting crushed by a ship), then i would be in tabbs bay?? or is there an easier way to do this.. also is cedar bayou any good?? thanks in advance

That would be Tabbs. IF you make it across without getting hit, it's the quickest way.

Just go to Lynchburg Rd and launch from there. That'll put you in Burnet Bay. Google map on terrain and it should be pretty easy to see.

Do they have a boat ramp? I was thinking about hunting Upper Trinity and meeting up with Mike on Saturday morning around 9AM-10AM was going to leave my boat at the private launch and drive the truck to an easily accessible spot near where they'll be fishing...

There is a ramp off I-10 and Bayou Rd at River Terrace Park. If going East, its after Sheldon Rd and down a mile or so to the right.

Man...y'all are difficult fishing pair! LOL

Coe...on second thought , I wouldn't leave my new boat at this ramp by itself. It might not be there when you return.

I've only caught a few Homey. When you get your own boat, you concentrate more on putting everyone else on fish and forget about yourself.
It was like that when I put your dad on that big red. We still caught more than he did. His was just better.

He caught over 100 inches of red the week I was off after Christmas. I try, I use the same thing he does but he just always catches em.

You'll get it! It's taken me a while too. I've always been an offshore fisherman and just now got into bay fishing.......there's an art to it.

Coe:
I tried Jumbile and my dink spot-lost a barely keeper trout at the boat at Jumbile-nothing else. Sunday went with my 2 brothers and tried Confederate-nada-wind was light, tried streaks by oyster boats and moved to Green's cut-I had 1 hit and missed it. Sure was nice though. Hope you did better! I wasn't around any computer after 3 Friday, so I missed your note. Lost my 'puter in Galveston to Ike.

I had on a good trout which I long-distance released :D Good times were definently had, and Mike earned some launch-ramp karma points.

What launch ramp karma do you speak of?

Some fellow launched without his plug or something. Came back to the ramp several minutes later and ran around trying to find it. Mike ended up helping him pull his boat back onto the trailer where it gushed water like a faucet for quite a long time.

Mike did the same thing but not with a plug... We came back to the launch and realized Mike had a hole in his hull, well rub rail area had seperated and each time we caught a wave it forced water into the bow... It drained for a long time and we couldn't figure out how or why it got in... Mike's a good guy he'll give you a hand no matter what.

The real reason that I did it is he would have sunk in my favorite part of the ramp. We can't have that.

I had a gulf coast that I almost sank forgot to put plugs in it this thing had 8 plugs and my first time taking her out forgot the 2 main plugs water came rushing in made it over to the dock and was like hmmm the rear seems to be sitting low... Opened the battery door... OH no!! Raced it back to the launch let it drain and then relaunched... I didn't feel like sticking my hand into postively charged water :D
