Went on my first flyfishing trip in Scotland at Haddo House Lake. This place is chock full of double-digit rainbow trout up to 20 lbs.
My goal for the day was to learn how to cast a fly... let's just say that I need more practice. Anyway, I caught a few, including this one that went about 6 lbs. My buddy caught a 10-lber... biggest rainbow I've seen in my life.
Even through the frustrations of limp lines and short casts, I had fun... but nothing beats topwater fishing for specks.
Tight lines....

Thanks for sharing..nice fish. My father's parents came from Montrose, Scotland on the North sea coast. They loved being on the water and fishing. I guess that's where me and my 2 brothers get it from. I would love to go to Scotland some day. :)

LMAO...... I knew you would find a place to fish up there. Not to worry about the Trout down here though, I have been taking real good care of them in West Bay lol.
Congrats on a nice Trout

Hi Cory,
I get to fish Galveston this coming Friday with Doug. Back to ABZ the next day. We need to hookup and go out to Parkhill for some rainbow fishing. I'll look into guest tickets so you and I can give it go there or on the Don for some browns.
See ya in the office in a wee bit.

Wish I would have known how good the fishing was there. I was in ABZ for 3 months several years back. You been to the tilted wig yet?
