What is the best light to use for gigging while wading, I have not stuck a flounder in years and with as hot as the days are getting would like to take the kids out to stick a few. Thanks

I agree. They are reliable and weigh next to nothing once submerged.

How do you carry the battery. I thought about using my kayak as a battery float.

12V Deer feeder batts are popular to use. They last aprox 3 hrs and one is worn in the pocket of a fanny pack.
You can get as fancy as you want. I like to tow a cooler for my beer and fish and I put my battery's in there as well. I use extra long leads to reach my battery in the cooler.

I use a backpack to carry the battery.

I use a backpack & have extended the wires on the light to allow for more movement.
