Got back Saturday night from a week of hunting down in La Salle County, and let me say the rut is on like DONKEY KONG! Those poor does couldn't even eat corn because as soon as they stepped in, some buck would immediately take off after her into the brush. I have never had the chance to hunt when the rut is in full force like this and I have to say it is really cool, though kind of frustrating when you are doe hunting and the bucks keep running them off!
On a side note, doves were everywhere. Groups of 10-15 were flying morning and evening. Unless something crazy happens with the weather, dove hunting should be a go when the season opens back up in a few days.
