E Matty Afternoon Trip

Took my boat to E Matty with Albert this afternoon. Boat problems made it a short trip and we only fished a couple of hours. Thought we had some bad gas, but stabilzer didn't help. We would run 5mph for a while and the up over 20 for a while. Not sure what is going on with it.
We hit the S shoreline and the water was nasty. Albert caught a few small reds and trout and we headed north to protected water. We crossed the bay at 5mph in 25mph winds and jumped out and caught a few more rat reds and small trout.
We finall found a few birds working, but couldn't get to them at 5mph, so we just drifter for a while and found a few more.
We hit a floch of birds on our way back in and caught some more small trout and sandies.
It was a great day to be out and nice to catch some fish. We caught about 30 trout and 10-15 reds in all. We kept 4 trout and 2 reds for dinner tomorrow.

Thanks for the report. From what I've seen and been hearing the fishing in EMB has been very slow. I'm debating about going there Saturday or to Galveston.

While working on the boat I talked to 6 boats that came in and only 1 boat caught more than 3 fish, but we were able to find some. We are going to try to go back next week.

This winter when we get some low pressures, be ready to sink in mud and grind.

There are some fish being caught if you can find some birds working, but wading the shorelines have been slow. These bull tides we been having lately haven't helped. We need a good strong cold front to drop the water out. There's also been talk about the creel and net surveys have been lower than usual. I think in the last issue of Gulf Coast Connections, Capt. Billy P. mention it also. I won't be surprised if we go to a five fish trout limit soon.
