A friggin new Rugger Charger .22!
I've always wanted one and after I actually had one starring in a dream, I woke up this morning on a mission and yep, I brung the little bad boy home.
I love my real hand guns and rifles but this thing is a whole different kinda of toy...shoot it all day for the cost of a few bags of peanuts with accuracy to make anyone smile.:smash:
The trigger pull sucks and I need to find a better scope but even as it is, She's one very cool customer. I don't know even where to begin to look for a gunsmith that can put a good touch to the trigger. If you do then let me know.
So far I am looking at 2"1/2-3" groups at 50 yds on average, sometimes a little worse and sometimes it's dead center with multiple shots dead center.
I love this thing, it's crazy cool.

It is for sure fun to shoot. I've had mine for a little over a year now and have had a ball with it. I replace the parts in the trigger group myself and had the barrell treaded for the compensator. Try shooting different ammo, for some reason mine will only hold a tight group at 25 and 50 yds with CCI MINI-MAG ROUND NOSE 40 Gr. It does not like hollow points. Here's a pic of a 100 yd target, it's hard to catch a day with a light wind. Have fun with yours.

1.Compensator from Tactical Solutions http://www.tacticalsol.com/store/pc/home.asp and installed by Cherokee Rifle Company http://cherokeerifle.biz/CherokeeRifle/ (http://cherokeerifle.biz/CherokeeRifle/)

2. All other parts ordered from Hawk Tech Arms http://www.hawktecharms.com/index.html (http://www.hawktecharms.com/index.html) and were Volquartsen Custom parts.

I really don't want to shoot a bad guy though my wife thinks I do but, I got a .40 and a 12g if need be.

Willie.
I was at the Clear creek range yesterday and even with the hard trigger break, if I took my time, I was able to put 25 shot groups all into the very center bullseye with no strays.
This little thing is amazing.
I'm getting ready to take another look at the provided links to pick out a fix for the trigger pull and I saw another upgrade...something about a bolt block stop made out a hard rubber type material that stops the metalic clack sound and almost eliminates all shock transmitted to the optics...sweet.

Shooting big bore stuff is always cool but to be able to sit down and plink away for pennys using such a interesting and accurarte pistol is a whole lotta fun.

Oh my god, you got the "Charger" bug bad. You can spend more than what you paid for it very easy. You will really be able to tell the different after you install the bolt buffer, I use the "Tuffer Buffer" and I took a look at it after around 700 rounds and it still looked new. I do my shooting at the Texas City Range and I was going once a week but it depends on the weather. One day we need to meet up at the range and I'll tell you a couple of other thing's I did to mine. Have fun.

OK, sweet.
I'm looking forward to the smooth trigger break and what the buffer bar can actualy do.
I go to the Cleer Creek range. If I'm the only shooter, they let me call my own cease fires.
Ya, sometime this winter lets try to meet up at one of the two places. I would like that, 2 Chargers side by side could make for some interesting video. I don't fish much at all during the winter and I'm a shift worker so I can be flexable for range time. Are you ever off in the middle of the week?

If my stuff comes to the front door and I have time to make the upgrade maybe we can try for this Wed or Thurs.
What brand, grain ammo do you recommend for paper punching and accuracy?

If we get a chance to hookup at the range this coming week I'll bring some different type's of ammo for you to try. For some reason my "Charger" only like's CCI MINI-MAG 40 GR. ROUND NOSE but all "Charger's" aren't the same. I just got some FEDERAL 40 GR. ROUND NOSE that I'm going to try, it may just not like hollow point's.

I hope your "Charger" will shoot every 22 ammo on the market but mine just want do it. Here's a target from today.

What is the distance of that target?
My scope is a fixed 2x Burris so I am limited. Even at 25 yds. I need a spotting scope to see those little hole punches. I have been shooting Winchester 333's, hollow points. I also want to pick up a bore snake before we go.
My parts came into today but I will not get a chance to install it all untill Tues afternoon.
Ok man, looking forward to it all.

With the wind blowing like it was I was just playing at 25 yds. You can tell deer season is fixing to start, the TC range was full yesterday, that's why I like to shoot during the week. Let me know when you are ready to shoot and pic a range. See you then. Also, there's some guy's that I shoot with on Friday morning's in TC if we can get together and one of them is on this site, Hooked Up and he has a "Charger" also. Anyway, I'm flexable, I'll shoot whenever you want if I'm avaliable.

That would be interesting, 3 chargers on the line.
I took the pistol apart and cleaned it in prep for the new TG and also brought my bolt to work tonight. When I get a break I will change out the Extractor with a VQ one.
I should be good to go for Tx city Wednsday.
I'll PM you my number.

Sounds good to me. The range opens at 9am and close's at 5pm. Just a suggestion but we could shoot in the morning and then stop off somewhere for lunch, just a thought. I better give my "Charger" a good cleaning so you want show me up too bad. I just sent you a PM.
