Short Trip

Got to take a break from working all weekend on the beach house and did a little bit of fishing. Took the john boat out of jamaica beach and just putted around looking for debris and checking out the houses on the water. Debris weren't bad, did see an uprooted palm tree in jumbile. Didn't have gps or depth finder so poked around and finally found some shell and waded in about waist deep water for about 2 hours. Caught 4 trout 18-21" and had a good flounder on but lost him at the grab. No ice and Ike took my filet knife so all fish were released for another day..

Forgot to mention at first I was fishing with a medium to fast retrieve and got zero hits. Then I slowed it down alot and thats when I started hooking up. In this case I was using braid and I think it helped alot. They were hitting it pretty softly and my dad was using mono and got zero hookups.
