crazy stuff

went out to jones this afternoon to run the boat a little and fish for a hour or so. absolutly nothing happening while i was using a hop or slow swim retrieve, but when i decided to pick up and move, i started to really crank the bait in fast. lo and behold, it got hammered. small trout but, a trout. same thing happened on the next two casts retrieved almost as fast as i could. then it just quit. tried everything i could think of for another 20 min. nada. I'm soooo confused.

It's funny you say that, I fished this afternoon as well and a mirrolure worked very fast near the surface got bit. Wouldn't touch a topwater.

.....let it drop to the bottom and then work it up. "Pop Pop Pop" and then do it again off the bottom....
